Teaching observations for tenure track faculty are coordinated with the department's Personnel and Finance Committee.

Teaching observations for full- and part-time lecturers occur annually and are coordinated by the Department Head according to the terms established by each bargaining unit's contract.

Teaching observations for graduate assistants occur once each semester. They are coordinated by the Director and Associate Director of the First-year Writing Program.

In the interest of providing support, professional development, and mentoring, you have the option of arranging additional, informal teaching observation with any colleague in the FYWP. We mention this particularly for instructional staff who would like to have more conversation about teaching methods or about how a particular class is going.
