Derek Mueller, Associate Professor of Written Communication and Director of the First-year Writing Program, joined EMU's Department of English Language and Literature in 2009. His teaching and research generally converges at the intersection of writing, rhetoric, and technology. More specifically, his work focuses on questions concerning new media, digital humanities, and networked digital writing activity; geospatial and visual rhetorics; data visualization and modeling methods; and theories of composition, pedagogy, and mentorship.
